Coronavirus Returning to Work and Risk Assessments

Workers who have been furloughed must have furlough agreements in place.

If you do not have an agreement in place for a furloughed worker contact me ASAP so we can back fill this requirement.

Furlough agreements typically provide for furlough periods to be brought to an end on notice.

A worker who has reasonably held concern that a return to work may present a risk to their health and safety may refuse to return to work and will be protected from detrimental treatment.

It is therefore important that you consider the coronavirus related risks to health and address these prior to any return to work.

The best way to do this is by undertaking a risk assessment and sharing this with workers prior to their return.

The risk assessment template contains some suggestions but should be amended to fit your workplace and the measures you are taking to minimise risks.

A simple web page with links and a contact form makes standardising your message and dealing with concerns more manageable.
